And their needs are different as they get older: dedicated work space for computers and projects and homework. And larger storage for all their sporting equipment.
So today is a painting day - I am taking a previously red 'little boys' bedside table and a previously white bed, and turning them into matching grey bedroom furniture.
We are channelling these teen boys' room that we found on the Restoration Hardware website. Restoration Hardware does not ship to Australia as yet, so I'm giving it a go to recreate this look.
What do you think? Something you like for a boy's bedroom?
I'll let you know how we go over the coming weeks and show you the complete befores and afters!

Hi Julie, I love little girls rooms too! but with two boys I am more 'in the zone' of the boy set up! Jen x
DeleteLove it. Trying to find something tasteful that they won't out grow quickly and as you say reflects their age. My two are 7 and 8 just 12 months apart. It's been a challenge finding the right style to suit our new modern contemporary home. Still looking.
ReplyDeleteExactly! We have an older home but still, agree with you, marrying their taste, their age, and wanting it to somehow fit in with your overall home can be difficult! I don't want it to be a case of 'shut the door and look the other way'! I'll share it on the blog when it's all assembled, still have a few mailorder peices we're waiting on. Jen x
